GOOD BYE LONG BEACH, HELLO LOS ANGELES! It is INSANE that we moved to a new house and painted, repaired and rented my Long Beach dream home in the weeks leading up to my retreat. I’m leaving for Bali on Friday, handing over the keys to my tenant on Wednesday. I switched my walls to a neutral white except for the kitchen. I love my blue kitchen too much (and the dining room ceiling mural) to change for anyone. Exactly 9 years after moving to Long Beach we’re heading back to a new house in my old neighborhood, 5 blocks from my last home here. The way I manifested this new house is pretty crazy. On April 8, 2015, I bought my first house. It’s a magical house. We have been so happy here. I love the neighborhood. I just attended an “avocado harvest” party in a neighbor’s backyard, picking all the fruit we could from the ginormous tree, chatting for hours with neighbors, taking home large bags of fresh avocados. Every year in November I declare my own “persimageddon,” and I invite all my neighbors to take all the persimmon fruit they can from my own over-large tree, and then I encourage them to take even more.
