Something I’ve been thinking about… A significant problem I see in the coaching world–and coaching marketing–is the presumption of a level playing field. To assume that the challenges facing a tall white guy and a short black woman are the same is… laughable. And unfair. Which is not to say that tall guys don’t face and overcome challenges. Yes, we are more than our bodies and there is (in my opinion/personal experience) an eternal component to us that is pure consciousness and power, beyond harm, without limitation. But while we’re here and IN BODIES, the material world matters. That’s our job for this lifetime. Hunger and suffering matter. Nobody evolves without engaging in the challenges of being a wounded, flawed, vulnerable sentient being. Don’t look away. Learn from the pain. Do your best to solve problems in this world, in the time you have here. That is the highest spiritual calling.
