Exactly 9 years after moving to Long Beach we’re heading back to a new house in my old neighborhood, 5 blocks from my last home here. The way I manifested this new house is pretty crazy. I can’t ignore that. (A story for another time.)

This will be my FOURTH time living in the exact same half mile radius. Crazy, right? I do adore this neighborhood.

This is a hard move because we love living in Long Beach so much. We made great friends, and the beach town life style can’t be beat. I’ll miss my fruit trees, my feral cat visitors, yoga in the park, daily summer ocean swims, walks with my neighbors, the light traffic.

We are grieving. That said, this move is the very definition of a high quality “problem.”

I trust the signs and synchronicities that made it clear this is what wants to happen now. It’ll be wonderful to be closer to our families and childhood friends.  And the new house is also pretty fantastic. Bigger. Centrally located. And it’s another one of those sweet, vintage, Spanish revivals I love so much.

What stresses me out most is not knowing where all the art and books will go. We are art and book hoarders. Talk about a quality problem!

The move is this weekend, so I have 2 weeks to unpack before flying to Bali. Next time I shoot a video it’ll be from the new house. See you there!
