GOOD BYE LONG BEACH, HELLO LOS ANGELES!

It is INSANE that we moved to a new house and painted, repaired and rented my Long Beach dream home in the weeks leading up to my retreat. I’m leaving for Bali on Friday, handing over the keys to my tenant on Wednesday.

I switched my walls to a neutral white except for the kitchen. I love my blue kitchen too much (and the dining room ceiling mural) to change for anyone.

Take a look while it’s empty, before my tenant moves in on May 1st:

WHEN THE FUTURE CALLS…

This was NOT on my radar for 2024. I cannot think of any activity in my life that I like less than moving, but the right opportunity opened up to move into a very nice house in one of my favorite Los Angeles neighborhoods in order to be closer to family members who’ll be needing more assistance in coming years.

We are grieving hard for our Long Beach dream home.

Sometimes we do the hard thing that we don’t really want to do, cause our future selves are pulling us forward.

On the plus side our new place is gorgeous, and our rooms seem to be much bigger here. (All the floor rugs that filled the rooms in Long Beach look too small here.) And we are certainly in the center of things!

Happily the new tenant LOVES our Long Beach house, and we expect she will thrive there like we did.
