When Vision Boards, Meditations, and Affirmations make you MORE depressed…
A reader asked: “Help! What do I do when vision boards, meditation, affirmations, and visualizations make you depressed and cry all the time?”
My Response:
Stop! Get some support to address what’s going on under the surface. What’s trying to get your attention?
If you are depressed, see a professional who is qualified to help you with that. Even if you’re not depressed, a university study a few years back showed that affirmations made people feel worse.
My hunch is you’re highly sensitive and empathic, so I would encourage you to investigate where these feelings are coming from: they may not be your own.
And for what’s yours, find the wisdom and the message from the pain that needs to be received before it can release you. Something needs to be heard, and it will just get louder until you get the information you need.
